This project transforms a compact one-bedroom flat into a spacious two-bedroom home through a carefully designed attic conversion. The new upper floor becomes the centrepiece: a grand open-plan kitchen and living space set beneath the roof, with generous proportions and characterful volumes.

This tenement flat presented a familiar challenge: a central kitchen that disrupted the flow and limited the sense of space. Our approach was to rethink the plan entirely.

Biomorphis is currently developing a house extension in Portobello that brings together affordability, sustainability, and contemporary design. The project aims to create a light-filled, flexible living space that responds to the needs of modern family life while keeping construction practical and cost-effective.

Kitchen relocation & design in Restalrig, Edinburgh. The proposed kitchen incorporates common construction materials such as wood, metal, and recycled elements to foster an environment of durability and tranquility.

Work-in-progress on Milton Street in Edinburgh. Extension into a very confined attic space to provide views to Holyrood. Real-time walk-through architects’ visualization to help design the new spaces and reconfigured lower floor.

Work in progress at Great King Street. From 1 bathroom split in 3 spaces. We were commissioned to design 1 new bathroom which would regroup all in one room. Real time walk-through visualization to help design the bathroom as a piece of furniture.

Internal alterations to a flat on Great King Street, Edinburgh, in a A listed Building. The layout of the flat has been revisited to accomodate the needs of a new family, with the formation of new rooms, kitchen and bathrooms.

Work in progress in South Edinburgh, Briarbank Terrace. New stair to previously unused attic, 3 additional bedrooms, one additional bathroom, a new dormer & rooflights to enlarge an existing 2 bedrooms family house into the attic space.
