Attic Conversion and Flat Transformation at Waverley Park, Edinburgh

Biomorphis is designing an Attic Conversion and a Flat Transformation at Waverley Park to expand the living space.

The project focuses on creating flexible, light-filled areas that respond to modern family and lifestyle needs.

The attic conversion provides additional bedrooms and functional spaces, while the flat transformation reconfigures the lower floors to improve flow, comfort, and usability. By combining these interventions, the project maximises the property’s potential while respecting its context and architectural character.

Design Approach

We prioritised space optimisation, natural light, and functional layouts. The attic conversion incorporates rooflights and carefully positioned openings, ensuring the upper level feels open and inviting. On the lower floors, we reconfigured rooms to create a cohesive layout that supports daily life and social interaction.

We employ real-time VR visualisation to explore multiple layout options. This allows the client to experience the space virtually, test circulation, and refine room arrangements before committing to detailed design. The visualisation also ensures every spatial decision enhances comfort and usability while maintaining aesthetic harmony.

Interior Transformation

The transformation focuses on flexibility, connectivity, and modern living standards. The attic provides additional bedrooms, a study, or adaptable spaces depending on family needs. The lower floor now offers enhanced living zones, where kitchen, dining, and lounge areas work together seamlessly.

Every detail, from furniture placement to storage solutions, aligns with the family’s lifestyle. The project demonstrates how thoughtful interventions can improve both daily function and visual quality in a compact urban flat.

Outcome

Even as a work-in-progress, the Waverley Park project highlights how attic conversions and flat transformations can unlock the hidden potential of a property. By integrating VR visualisation, intelligent planning, and design sensitivity, the project delivers additional space, light, and functionality without compromising the flat’s character.

This attic conversion and flat transformation will result into a comfortable, adaptable, and visually engaging home, showcasing how modern interventions can enhance both living quality and spatial efficiency in Edinburgh flats.
