This project explores a house extension proposal at Clark Avenue in the Trinity area of Edinburgh, using architectural visualisation to test spatial ideas and reveal the potential of the existing home.
The proposal focuses on clarity, light, and a strong relationship between old and new.
Design Intent
The extension aims to enhance everyday living without overwhelming the original house. The design responds carefully to the scale of the surrounding neighbourhood while introducing contemporary elements that improve space, flow, and natural light.
Rather than treating the extension as an addition, the proposal integrates it as a natural continuation of the existing building.
From Concept to Visualisation
We developed the project through a detailed design and visualisation process, using 3D modelling to explore proportions, materials, and spatial relationships. These visual tools allow clients to understand the proposal early, test alternatives, and make informed decisions with confidence.
The visualisations illustrate how the extension transforms key living areas and strengthens connections to the garden and surrounding context.
Context and Character
Located in Trinity, the proposal responds to the area’s residential character and urban grain. The design respects neighbouring properties while creating a more generous and light-filled interior tailored to modern family life.
Outcome
This proposal demonstrates how thoughtful design and clear visual communication can unlock the potential of an existing home. By combining architectural rigour with advanced visualisation, the project shows how a well-considered house extension can transform both space and experience.
